About Us

The Courageous Sisters Ghana, founded on 10th August 2015

The Courageous Sisters Ghana, founded in 10 August 2015, us a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization working for the visibility and protection of the human rights of the Lesbian, Bisexual, Queer women, Trans – Gender Diverse & Gender Non- Conforming (LBQT GNC) persons in Ghana.

Courageous Sisters Ghana (CSG) came about due to little or no intervention given to the Violations for LBQT GNC Rights in Ghana. It aims to mobilize, empower and also to create a wider network for LBQT GNC persons within the Ghanaian context. CSG works to improve the lives of LBQT GNC persons from various communities by implementing developmental interventions with support from other civil Society organizations both local and international.

CSG Empowerment Programmes in the community include fostering an environment that empowers LBQT GNC persons to take up leadership positions in society and decision-making bodies as well as, empowering them to be advocates of change for Human Rights, Mental Health and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights within their communities and Ghana as a whole.

To Build Movements and Coalitions that offers Safe Space and Supports LBQT GNC persons to Improve upon their quality of life and also breech the gap between Gender Base Violence in the Country.

To Reduce the Stigma and Discrimination, and also ensure LBQT GNC persons have access to adequate Health Services for their needs to be equally met.

To invest in the LBQT GNC persons Leadership Training across the Country through Capacity Building Program’s, Resource Mobilization and Technical Assistance.

To Promote Socio- Economic pathways, by empowering LBQT GNC businesses and also, building the capacities of LBQT GNC persons to create sustainable livelihoods.
